I have read or heard a lot of criticism of this film, but the criticism didn't stand up to review, having watched it (5 stars). I could understand all the motivations of John in this film, and perhaps it is a film meant for older people (men), because life throws so many things at you that you can't help be scarred or see things crystal clear. If you are a halfway decent man like John, what these Women traffickers do to just get ahead is bound to make your skin crawl. If they take from you the last thing that makes life worth living, I would, like John want to see them all gone in an instant to. It is the very thing about being male I hate, the bad things men do to women, children and other men. This is why with John's life at an end in many ways and with all the demons he carries the only thing to do in this situation, is do what he does best, kill bad men.

A fitting end to the Rambo saga. All the claims of racism and misogynism aren't correct. In fact the original plan that Stallone & author David Morrell wanted was a smaller, personal drama, along the lines of the first movie. The studio & financial backers balked. They wanted this border action fest. PTSD issues of Rambo is at the forefront here. The international version, that was shown outside of North America is the preferred version, a far superior opening and more nuance.

Great ending to a saga that should've ended at Rambo Part 3. Sylvester looks tired and although refreshed around the face a little, he still has a great presence on screen. Who knows there may be another one...seems to be the theme with many movies lately. Or those re-makes that just should NOT be touched.
