The show is leagues better. You can see what they were trying for but due to budget and time constraints they dont get too far past average. If you want to see what they can do with this idea check out the netflix series Kingdom. Its this, but with more time and more money and better thought out.

A horror epic! It's a combination of Korean historical drama and a zombie film. If you like zombie apocalypses, torch-wielding mobs and scores of decapitations, you'll love this!

"The show is better" is the same as " the book was better than the movie" I tried to get into the show, too slow. This is a fantastic movie and story.
