From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s estseller of the same name. The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a reakneck, realitybending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.

Interesting idea but fell short, it's all great special effects but very simple and predictable story. Some of the characters are cheesy and unlikeable too. But it has an 80's cyberpunk gaming style to it which I loved. We need more unique cyberpunk movies

It was very good. Loved it. It's not as good as the book and the story is a bit different, but it is still a very good film. If you love nerdy/science fiction mixed with the 80s and computer games, then you will absolutely enjoy this film.

great movie but not through google. Watching on a ultrawide i get a very low quality version. i own a 4k disc and have this google quality version. its the same for alot of googles moviwes. terrible quality. on apple they all play in the correct resolution and at the highest quality, why in 2023 cant google achieve that.
