From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s estseller of the same name. The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a reakneck, realitybending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.

Adaptación de una novela. Un éxito de taquilla de Stephen Spielberg. Divertida, relajada, llena de referencias hacia una gran parte de la cultura pop de los ochentas. Principalmente de los videojuegos y del cine. El creador de uno de los videojuegos más exitosos del mundo fallece, al morir deja testimonio en donde asegura que dentro del "Oasis", el videojuego, hay unas pistas y quien las encuentre será el próximo heredero de todo los videojuegos. Hay una historia paralela con un universo fantástico creado en el futuro. En donde todos pueden entrar al mundo Virtual mientras que en el 'mundo real' tenemos una realidad distópica en donde el mundo está prácticamente destruido. Un chico sin recursos está determinado a obtener esta herencia. Distintas referencias de audio, música y complementos de homenajes tanto visuales como auditivos. Spielberg declaró que definitivamente no es una obra maestra, pero sin duda es una película para divertirse en familia. Hecho para verse en 3D con efectos especiales alucinantes que realmente creo que no se alcanzan a apreciar en pantalla chica. Por la cantidad de efectos especiales a la mitad de la película detuvieron rodaje para empezar a desarrollarlos y en ese espacio Spielberg hizo la película The Post, con Meryl Streep y Tom Hanks.

This is one of my favorite movies and I've seen lots of movies. I was alive terminator 2 had the best amazing cgi every. So I've noticed a few ppl comment regarding this movie ruining a book... First of all you're an idiot if you are dumb enough to expect that a book and movie express a story in the same way. Movies have never been able to come close to telling the same story as what's possible in a story book. You're a poor critic if you compare the 2. You're being biast and unreasonable.
