About this movie

Enter the not-so-distant future where boxing has gone high-tech - 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots have taken over the ring. Starring Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter turned small-time promoter, Real Steel is a riveting, white-knuckle action ride that will leave you cheering. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the thrill-packed arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback. Real Steel is a pulse-pounding, inspirational adventure filled with heart and soul.

This movie I thought was going to be a boring movie with the robots and CGI going to be the mainparts with a week storyline.... low and behold though the storyline is actually very good and makes the movie.... who ever did the marketing strategy on this should be fired.... all they pushed was the robots and cgi when they would have gotten a lot more people to go see it if they showed the story behind it

Real Steel is a father-son movie meets Rocky meets Rock Em's Sock Em' Robots. An interesting, and entirely possible, future sport known as Robot Boxing has entirely replaced commercialized fighting because it provides the violence humans never could. While the plot itself is a bit generic, it's still a good movie to watch and the CGI is excellent and worth renting just to see.

The movie has a different feel to it which is a case on its own for watching it. Most movies I've seen coming out recently were too similar. The acting is decent and it mixes its genres very well. My only real complaint is it feeling too condensed. It feels the movie could have gone a bit longer, but while making the movie they decided it was turning out too long. Or they ran out of time. Either way, it was a good watch.
