Two investigators of paranormal hoaxes, the veteran Dr. Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver) and her young assistant, Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy), study the most varied metaphysical phenomena with the aim of proving their fraudulent origin. Simon Silver (Robert De Niro), a legendary blind psychic, reappears after an enigmatic absence of 30 years to become the greatest international challenge for both orthodox science and professional skeptics. Tom quickly begins to develop an obsession with Silver, whose magnetism becomes stronger with each new manifestation of inexplicable events. Bedømmelser og anmeldelser

I enjoyed the film because of its relatively original story line and good acting. Yet it didn't seem to give a clear message, and when you finally realised what has happened, its no longer that interesting or exciting. Overall worth a watch for those who like twists, but don't get too excited.

A good cast and some nice ideas let down by a decidely average director and a disappointing ending.

It leaves me with a lot of questions about the story but in a good way.
