Teave selle filmi kohta

In this new comedy from director Larry Charles (BORAT, "Seinfeld"), comedian and TV host Bill Maher ("Real Time with Bill Maher," "Politically Incorrect") takes a pilgrimage across the globe on a mind-opening journey into the ultimate taboo: questioning religion. Meeting the high and low from different religions, Maher simply asks questions, like "Why is faith good?" "Why doesn't an all- powerful God speak to us directly?" and "How can otherwise rational people believe in a talking snake?" For anyone who's even a little spiritually curious, this divine entertainment will deepen your faith...in comedy!

Although I do believe in much of what Bill is saying, and I agree that religion as a whole has caused more conflicts that any other thing in history, its the way he approaches it. My beliefs aside, you still have to respect someone's beliefs. I might think it's total nonsense, but the person on the other end of the spectrum might feel my disbelief is nonsense. It's a matter of opinion, or in this case faith, which is debatable, but can never be proven or disproven. Respect one another is all.

Getting the atheists and those with nothing but hate in their hearts to part with their money is a work of genius. PT Barnum was right there's a sucker born every minute and Maher is phoning it in to these atheists who dogmatically follow every word he says as the gospel, oops I mean the tabloids. when you have no hope this is the best atheists can hope for, emptiness and void filled with hate in their hearts.

When you lie about your intentions and identity to ambush people to get a story, then edit it to agree with you become the joke at the dinner table. Why actually find a story when you can make one up. Just tell a pastor you want to do interview with them because of their efforts to clothe, feed, and shelter the homeless. Then show up and ask them why they do it and when they answer "because it's the right thing to do" re-edit the question for the film to ask, "why do you hate the world?"
