The film explores the unexplained death of Gordon Dunn (Martin Donovan), a visionary scientific pioneer whose body is found shortly after the unveiling of his newest work: a device able to extract, record and play a person’s memories. Gordon’s wife, Carolyn (Julia Ormond), retreats into her house and cuts off contact with the outside world when a mysterious man (Peter Dinklage) shows up. After stealing the machine, he uses it to try and solve the mystery, beginning an investigation of memories that lead him to unexpected and dangerous places.

Based on the 17% this has on Rotten Tomatoes, I must be a bad film critic.. I enjoyed this movie. The acting was pretty good IMO; and the story itself was interesting. Through each scene, I found myself staying curious about what would happen next. And the"big reveals" took me in a direction I wasn't always expecting. The theme of the movie was poignant for me, as I've lived enough life to have experienced all kinds of memories: joy, pain, regret, love, etc. I imagine that's the case for a lot of people. After the plot climax (i.e., mystery solved), the exposition of the story/theme was maybe a bit too straightforward. The movie seemed to smack you over the head with it, as opposed to some movies that really require you to think, e.g. Arrival, or Interstellar, or Inception to name a few. I'm not sure if that's "good" film making technique that is taught in film school. But, I don't hate it. Sometimes it's nice to be able to understand exactly what's going on, and exactly what message the movie is trying to send, without having to find the "ending explained" video on YouTube or whatever. And, though it was a relatively simple exposition, it still struck an emotional chord with me. I think that's a sign of a story well told. In sum, because the movie had a bad "professional reviewer" score, I was expecting a bad movie. But my amateur brain says this was a pretty decent sci-fi flick. Probably not Oscar-worthy, but still a decent watch.

I got this for free and thought it was going to be second rate. But, the film has Peter Dinklage and Anton Yelchin. Both great actors! I let it sit more than a month and finally for lack of anything else to watch, I figured why not! As I said.. I thought it was second rate, what a shock I got! The quality of the filming alone grabbed my attention before the dialogue even began. The story started strange, dark and surreal. Then it evolved into something far more complex. This movie showcases Peter's ability to act on a level far beyond the snarky humor he is commonly known for and I don't count GoT as an improvement on his acting. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and all the people I suggested it to also enjoyed the movie. Film Critics are very biased in their reviews and a films popularity shouldn't be based on them alone. After all Siskel and Ebert gave two thumbs down to one of the largest grossing films on record. Take a hint, tone down the cinematic ego-mania and let the public make that determination.

"Rememory" was very interesting. Me and my husband enjoyed watching it together. It was very different from the way other Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Mysteries were solved. It also kept our eyes glued to the screen. We didn't want to miss anything. The pace of the movie keeps your mind curious to see what's next. Peter Dinklage (Sam Bloom) was truly a giant and a 007 in this movie, especially the way he researched each human subject in this clinical trial that extract, record and play the memories of another person was outstanding. Peter Dinklage (Sam Bloom) lead us to know why he wanted to solve the unexplained death of the Professor Gordon Dunn (Martin Donovan), The Professor's wife Julia Ormond (Carolyn Dunn) she played her part very well and the house was Gorgeous! Special thanks! to Director: Mark Palansky, Screenplay: Mark Palansky, Mike Vukadinovich, Producers: Daniel Bekerman, Lee Clay, Cinematography: Gregory Middleton and the entire cast, Excellent! Well Done.
