Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman), a private investigator of the mind, navigates the darkly alluring world of the past by helping his clients access lost memories. Living on the fringes of the sunken Miami coast, his life is forever changed when he takes on a new client, Mae (Rebecca Ferguson). A simple matter of lost and found becomes a dangerous obsession. As Bannister fights to find the truth about Mae's disappearance, he uncovers a violent conspiracy, and must ultimately answer the question: how far would you go to hold on to the ones you love?

Before bowing to the critics here who rated it boring, be reminded, some people just want explosions and action. They lack the taste for entertainment that deals in true intellectual depth, a walk with the deeper sides of humanity.... If you're the type who appreciates films which taps into man's full on experience of existence itself, then read on.... The last time I saw a movie with this much depth and well thought out script, it was Bruce Willis in "The Sixth Sense". Just as you feel the scene may be slowing down, they drop another clue, try and speed past you something you had to catch, try and make you believe in a path that wasn't taken. Well written, some of the best acting I've ever seen Hugh Jackman play. The cast, the writers, the incredible one-liners that are as poetic as they are deep, the inability to keep from falling in yourself and following the story with parallels to your own history. I was just going to rent this movie. Now I am glad I purchased it. It's "definitely" one I'll pull out many times over. You know the ones, where every time you watch, new pieces of revealed depth appear. If you wanted me to produce a shorter review, I got that covered too... "WOW!.. Just, WOW!!"

6/10. This has two sides to it. One the bright side, the world building was fantastic! It reminded me of blade runner with the whole place ( bot counting the fact this world is filled with water ). And Hugh Jackman gave a solid performance. But it falls due to the slow tempo this film gives. It lasts for what seems a long time when its not. And nothing big really happens in this film until the last 20-30 minutes. Overall this film had a great idea but fell flat at executing it.

Only reason i watched this movie was because of Hugh Jackman, he's one of my favorites. Only thing is the movie wasn't all that. Hugh Jackson, miss him as wolverine come back to life and raise up X-Men again, its not as interesting without you. Lol.
