I'm not exactly sure how it holds up to vampire lore and all, and the movie bonks you on the head with the allegory IMMEDIATELY and just never stops - but that doesn't mean that it's not fun to watch. All the performances were great, the dialogue was great (if heavy-handed at times, but even then done in a funny way), even the story was great - if a bit bonkers, but when your plan is hatched by a guy who's basically still operating like it's the 1800s, that can be forgiven. It's a good time.

Imagining a new twist on a classic stories. Nicholas Cage does it again. This isn't a blockbuster. This isn't 100 million dollar special effect movie. This is Dracula, and the re-exploration of a classic character, and his minion. Have you been wanting a creative storytellers imagination and putting that on the big screen? Have you been missing a new plot, story ark, character development and exploration in your moviegoing experience? This is artistic expression...and Nicholas Cage is #DaBaws

This is a damn good movie, I enjoyed it, love the body counts, bloody violence, and it's funny! Granted it won't win an Oscar, but it's a fun movie to watch and eat popcorn too. I hope this helps.
