Mary Romero aspires to use her platform as a TV reporter to make the world a better place, but this Christmas, the manager of her struggling station gives her an assignment as far removed from that goal as it gets: a puff piece for their biggest advertiser, commemorating the 40th anniversary of one of their signature toys. Mary grudgingly leaves for the rural town of Brunswick, Iowa, where a charming toymaker shows her around and inspires her to search her heart to find true happiness.
