Ratings and reviews

a completely absorbing film, top-class acting, wholly believable, made better because it's a true story - camera work is superb and the music always appropriate and adding to the experience. Not over the top like Deer Hunter or Apocalypse Now - this felt authentic - just great.

I suppose, based on the actors and performances, it could have been good. But the direction was awful and the film just came across as strange and almost a comedy; think Tropic Thunder!
