Unlike the original 1939 musical classic, Disney's earlier attempt at directing an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz was not well-written for all ages and it shows with the scary scenes and haunting and disquieting atmosphere. It's very somber and depressing to the point that I couldn't finish it. It has an esoteric happy ending where Dorothy Gale has to return to Kansas and forgot her friends and trip to Oz again. It pales in comparison to its engaging predecessor.

No one will ever do Dorothy's part like Judy garland and this is supposed to be the second movie why is Dorothy's part a little girl I mean come on that is rediculious and they have better graphics in the original movie I mean get real chickens don't talk

This film is an underrated classic, and a memorable part of my childhood! I never would have thought at the time that Fairuza Balk would grow up to be a very talented actress! 😌
