In the south of Laos, an American doctor becomes a fugitive after he intervenes in the sexual assault of a young woman. When the assailant's body is pulled from the Mekong River, things quickly spiral out of control.

There is no depiction of rape. It is merely implied that a character in the movie was sexually assaulted. It was an ok movie, I've seen worse. However, the main actor was extremely annoying. Wrong guy for the part. His acting was mediocre and his expressions were sometimes unnecessary. Overall, watch Broke down Palace much better story and way more emotional. But if you're bored and don't have anything to do such as wash dishes, then I guess this could be a decent time filler.

One thing I didn't like about this one is that the lead character is someone I just can't identify with. He makes mistake after mistake and stumbles about like a stupid moron, yet he's supposed to be a doctor. Well, other than that, the movie is interesting, edge of your seat suspense and keeps the viewer guessing up until the end. It's there that one can finally identify with the main character. In contrast to what others who obviously have not seen the movie have said, there are no rape scenes.
