I feel if Adam did a movie about his actual day to day life, it would be better but this will still make you laugh. A few of the bits in the film come from his podcast. It is always fun to see his ideas acted out on screen though. Im not quite sure how accurate Larry Miller's rendition of "Babydoll" Dixon was but I did not care for him. Worth a watch if you are looking for a comedy with real world struggles mixed in with some lighthearted moments.

The Albert Brooks influence on Carolla's film work really shows here as the comedian scratches some varnish off of celebrity by portraying a funny man struggling to remain relevant in a changing industry. Maybe it's the anti-Entourage, focusing more on career fizzle than sizzle. Perhaps we're seeing a glimpse of the demon that is driving Carolla to be so prolific as of late. Regular listeners of his podcast will find a lot of recycled humor here. Would have been nice to get some fresher material, but the uninitiated will get a taste of what we've been enjoying for years. Great cast offering a unique take on the Hollywood shuffle.

The movie looks great and has a solid tone throughout. Other than that 80% of the jokes are old standards of his. It might be more enjoyable if I hadn't heard most of the jokes. It seems like he made the movie he wanted and it just wasn't for me, The Hammer has a much better flow.
