I’ve always reviewed biopics produced when the main subject is still alive and kicking with a note of caution. After all, no matter how warts and all they claim to be, with the possibility of possible legal action ever present, none can ever claim to be truly honest. Hence my hesitancies with this, when I see the names not only of the subject but his life partner and husband crop-up on the opening credits! This still has much to recommend it, though. Much, much. Cringingly poor in places. Only the music lifted the rating from one to two stars. No Bohemian Rhapsody. Typical jukebox musical that will most probably end up in the West End and Broadway.

Dreadful film/musical. I am a fan of Elton John and have seen him live but the singing and acting in this film is absolutely awful
