Ron's hilarious malfunctions - set against the backdrop of the social media age - launch Barney and Ron into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship. Ratings and reviews

A coming of age film about friendship in the social media age. It has a pretty basic, formulaic plot and is ham-fisted in places (particularly in the portrayal of the greed and ambivalence of tech company CEOs and the negative effects of social media on young children) but otherwise entertaining for a kids film. Pixar it ain't, despite being on Disney+.
