20th Century Studios and Locksmith Animation's RON'S GONE WRONG is the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler, and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally connected device, which is supposed to be his "best friend out of the box." Ron's hilarious malfunctions - set against the backdrop of the social media age - launch Barney and Ron into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship. RON'S GONE WRONG features the voices of Zach Galifianakis (BOB'S BURGERS, A WRINKLE IN TIME), Jack Dylan Grazer (LUCA, SHAZAM!), Ed Helms (THE OFFICE), Justice Smith (JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM), Rob Delaney (DEADPOOL 2), Olivia Colman (THE CROWN), Kylie Cantrall (GABBY DURAN & THE UNSITTABLES), Ricardo Hurtado (THE GOLDBERGS), Marcus Scribner (BLACK-ISH) and Thomas Barbusca (CHAD).

IDK. This film feels more like tech fear propaganda with very little substance. Touching on issues about data collection/abuse of tech/big companies (Disney made this film BTW), how we can feel alone even when connected via social media, the dark side of going viral/fame and how it shapes our identities because of it. Outside of that, it's basically an isolated kid trying to connect to anyone/anything and learning that friendship is a two-way street (plus independence good, I guess)?

Someone said this feels like tech fear propaganda, which I agree with. However, my problem with the film is that it was horribly written & just overall lazy. Another kid with a bestfriend robot who he thinks he lost just to see them reunite. How cliche. Big Hero 6 already did that years ago. The jokes were horrible, I would feel insulted if I were a kid watching. You expect me to laugh at the granny pulling all the stuff out her bag? The ending was predictable & i've run out of characters. Awful
