Mai, a naive ribbon dancer from the countryside arrives in Saigon and befriends the street savvy Kim, a rebellious street dancer who introduces her to the underground scene of hip hop crews in modern-day Vietnam. Will their pursuit of a better life drive Kim's band of street dancers to win the big competition? Saigon Electric is a window in the emerging street culture in Vietnam, but with the traditional tropes of a coming-of-age story.
