About this movie

In small-town Louisiana, Sheriff Ruben Ramirez (David Zayas) finds a mute, Samuel Bleak (Dustin Schuetter), living in the woods with only the comfort of his old typewriter. After holding Samuel in the county jail, Ruben discovers that he is the son of the town drunk (James Russo). When Samuel ends up in a mental institution under the care of Ruben's wife (Deborah Kara Unger) and out of the hands of his abusive father, he not only has to acclimate himself to society but must deal with the doctor's probing, advances of a female patient and violent jealousy of her wishful suitor. As Samuel's world is turned upside down, his mother's tragic death becomes key in unlocking the shocking secrets of his past. What has Samuel been typing all of these years and what could have forced him to retreat into the woods as a child? One thing is certain... Whiterain and the lives of those who met Samuel will never be the same.
