Led by an expert con-artist, three crooks launch a bogus appeal to raise money for 'victims' of a local disaster in the South Pacific. Utilising the façade of a fictitious nun they name, "Angel Hope", they recruit and get to work with the aid of a young and pretty latter-day "Mother Teresa". But, when the plan becomes an unprecedented success and raises millions, unscrupulous profiteers, as well as the media and authorities, get wind of the trios true intentions and come after them.
