Sara (Julia Stiles) wants to be a ballerina, but her dreams are cut short by the sudden death of her mother. She moves in with her father (Terry Kinney), who she has not seen for a long time, in Chicago, mainly the ghetto. She gets transferred to a new school where she is the only white there. Her life takes a turn for the better when she is friends with Chenille (Kerry Washington). Later, she falls in love with her brother, Derek (Sean Patrick Thomas).

I agree with Joanne. The soundtrack is well done. It still is very much watchable 20 years later. Is it weird that Julia Stiles was 18 and Sean Patrick Thomas 30? Kind of. But even knowing that information it doesn't fall into 'that kind of weird'. There are things that have aged like Sara commenting on the photo of the woman in her fake ID. Glad that lines like that aren't pervasive in films now.

Brilliant film have seen over n over love the music also defo for any rnb soul or reggae fans

Great hip hop n rnb soundtrack excellent would recommend this film gets ur feet moving
