A complete one-sided story of D-Day told through the biased lens of Hollyweird. One needs to sprinkle a bit of salt (and some pepper, too!) over any war films ever released by Hollyweird so one can see the twisted, crafty, hidden propaganda theme. After all, propaganda is lies masqueraded as truth; whilst real TRUTH is distorted as lies. Remember, there are always two sides to History!

This film pulls no punches, a depiction of war that needs to be seen. If the opening scene alone doesn't leave you stunned, if you don't find yourself brought to tears, at least once, then see you must'nt have a heart. Can't recommend it highly enough.

... Thought provoking first half hour, soldiers getting shot even before getting out of the landing craft and drowning just a little of the war horrors portrayed about these brave ordinary men. Noble film, the mission to rescue Pte Ryan maybe a bit of a stretch but who cares. Every adult should see this film to understand a little of what frontline major conflict soldiers went through.
