Pat Eves
This feels like it was either a short story padded out or a dense tome cut down to size - disjointed and erratic. It doesn't age too badly (the effects are a bit clunky) but the performances of everyone involved were so poor (and, often, histrionic) that it was difficult to tell their motivations or give a damn about them.
