I have very few pleasures in life when it comes to watching movies as I lost ALL of them in a tragic accident, but when this movie is on, I'm glued to my television, even if I've got things to do elsewhere. My t.v. has no sound, so it's hooked to my stereo. The thunder of those races can be felt up to a block away, but I don't care! There's few movies can top this one. I cried, I laughed, and I felt the pain the jockey went through. My vote? From 1to10,, I rate it 10. Animals and actors.

A good balance of history and drama! A true underdog story with plenty of humor, heartbreak, hope, and excitement! A very well made movie!

My father passed away at the movie theater before the movie started and this was the movie we wanted to see the most I have watched this movie 13 times and it still brings tears to my eyes overall great movie.
