About this movie

Serena is a misanthropic microbiologist, great with bacteria but horrible with people. After crossing a line with a colleague, Serena is forced into sensitivity training with Caroline, the bubbly woman assigned to be her coach. Caroline and her sunny disposition represent everything Serena hates, but she is determined to make Serena an acceptable human. While Serena does her best to get rid of Caroline, she may have finally met her match.

Melissa Finell first feature film Sensitivity Training is a very entertaining work,It was fun from beginning to end. Like watching young adults running around a cricket pitch with broomsticks between their legs while throwing a doge ball at each other is beyond words Neat things too note are, on the theater marquee two of the titles are shorts Melissa Finell directed. Disaster Preparedness, with a hurricane racing toward their apartment pulls a couple out of their comfort zone and drops them squarely at the crossroads of commitment, disaster, and the art of being prepared. and No Direction, A comedy about a young woman who falls in love with the voice of the GPS in her parents' car. And Flemming the box turtle was by Burt the turtle, Burt was the poster boy for civil defense, as during a nuclear attack he could duck and cover. I hope Melissa Finell is able to make more films.

What a solid film! A fantastic love story of 'how to be friends when you're an adult.' I'm #TeamCaroline, but found a lot of myself in Serena's cynicism, too. I loved watching these two relatable characters fall into 'like' with each other. Mel Finell's beautiful writing and directing had me laughing and crying as I looked through this all-too-real mirror. (Also, consider that Bechdel test PASSED!) Thanks for this gift :)
