Let me see, girl is about to get married but still goes on a date with a complete stranger, in modern terms probably has a night stand, then later dumps the fiance, yay..random guy stalks every book store to find the girl, that's pushing your luck. Yay, he also dumps his current girlfriend, classic Californian dating, do as many guys you can, it's all cool.

Romantic fix, if you are looking for a strand or two of tinsel on the dark wet pavement of Christmas in NY, and can ignore the damage that "fate" leaves in the wake of our protagonists. I echo the sentiment of one reviewer who said they enjoyed it perhaps more than they should have. Some supporting roles held it together. Despite most comments here, I would not hold out hope for this as a date movie. Handle this bauble with care; it breaks easily and the implied edges are sharp. I like to think how good this movie could have been. Good cast, decent music, and a magical, if myopic, romance. If you can skip the disregard for almost everyone's happiness but their own, it can fill an empty hour.

I remember this movie. I only wonder what happened to the other characters they'd been involved with. The guy she had been engaged to who plays the instrument. . . . What happened to him at the end of the movie? The woman he was going to get married to. . . . What happened to her at the end? The movie kinda left me hanging there. I always wonder about where the other characters end up at the end of the movie too.
