Saw this movie years ago and didn't think much into it or of it's origins.Heard about Firefly much later, still yet to see. I like the story line of this movie but as some have also said, it lacks some story telling being far too condensed, I would have liked to understand more about the characters. So peeved Summer Glau isn't even mentioned in the credits here and she's basically the glue for the story. She's awsome whatever she's in, Sara Conner Cronicles, Knights of Badassdom. Plus the other characters in this movie are strong characters as well. It just felt kind of rushed.

The movie is a great extension of the TV series Firefly, but doesn't need any prior knowledge to enjoy. Kind of wish they'd gone a different way with some things in the movie, but highly enjoyable regardless. Reccomend watching the out takes for a laugh too.

Well, after seeing this my mind was sufficiently blown to seek out its origins. Found Firefly and fell in love. There needed to be more, much more. Serenity is in essence a season 2 stuffed into a feature film. Enjoy!
