Saw this movie years ago and didn't think much into it or of it's origins.Heard about Firefly much later, still yet to see. I like the story line of this movie but as some have also said, it lacks some story telling being far too condensed, I would have liked to understand more about the characters. So peeved Summer Glau isn't even mentioned in the credits here and she's basically the glue for the story. She's awsome whatever she's in, Sara Conner Cronicles, Knights of Badassdom. Plus the other characters in this movie are strong characters as well. It just felt kind of rushed.

But still excellent, although I didn't like the big budget camera work compared to the TV show as the crew of the space ship Serenity are ruff around the edges, so was the camera work of Firefly. I like that it wrapped up a few stories which was of course its purpose. Watch Firefly first, that is a must.

Still hate fox for destroying so many stories and thinking this movie would make up for poor decisions. Was beautiful as it was a series and all beceasue some idiots could not handle the relationship dynamics we get a movie condensed version.
