D.L. Hughley is Ben Cross, a struggling teacher trying to make a difference in his life and the lives of others by starting a school at the state prison. Using rap lyrics to teach the poetry of self-expression, he inspires them to change their lives. But old habits die hard and Ben finds himself fighting for his life.
