About this movie

Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a 30-something man living comfortably in New York balancing a busy job and active social life. When his sister, the wayward Sissy (Carey Mulligan), turns up at his apartment unannounced, Brandon's carefully managed lifestyle spirals out of control. From award winning director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us. © 2011 New Amsterdam Film Limited, Channel Four Television Corporation and The British Film Institute. For me too slow to start. It tried too hard to be dark and poignant but I felt like there was no substance, it just skimmed and had a predictable ending.

An unusual film. Hard to see how a film about a sex addict can be touching andi haunting but this film does that. It stayed with me for quite some time...but you will either love it or hate it.
