Film honi buruz

Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a 30-something man living comfortably in New York balancing a busy job and active social life. When his sister, the wayward Sissy (Carey Mulligan), turns up at his apartment unannounced, Brandon's carefully managed lifestyle spirals out of control. From award winning director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us. © 2011 New Amsterdam Film Limited, Channel Four Television Corporation and The British Film Institute. McQueen makes powerful films. This one is an intimate and delicate depiction of solitude. We all have a very odd and distorted opinion on sex, I think. In this film, a very lonely, yet attractive man, is desperately looking for an intimate connection with someone, and he utilises sex for that. That is what most of us do, anyway. I heard and I read a lot of diminishing and reductive reviews about this film that I personally find beautiful and extremely moving. Here instead, I read very interesting and accurate comments, which made me happy. The first reviewer here wrote "Idiots avoid - While the lack of gunfire may disappoint many, any with an eye for delicate, understated performances that will move you deeply should go ahead and see this film." I found this comment very accurate and sensitive, and I agree 100% with that.

A beautiful peace in filmaking. It really does get you thinking. It is such a powerful film, and so well made. The acting in the movie is absolutely incredible. I am not joking when I say they are some of the most underated performances ever. The movie shows so much humanity, and in how we are all people and we all have problems and our imperfections. The film was so well directed as well, and at the end day of the film did not get enough credit because of it subject matter, that was mostly controversial.

I tried to picture this movie like I do with a painting. It does not have the usual script with a clear ending, and it leaves it a bit open to discussion, but try to see this movie as the portrait of a man who's suffering. Yo see his anguish trying to find a conection though sex, but unable to connect with the only person who might understand where his problems come from and who is dealing with the same problem in a completely different way, his sister. Both performaces are amazing. Recomend to open minded.
