The late Mr. Reynolds had a pretty decent eye for directing. This film is uneven at times but I enjoyed the punchy dialogue...there was a sense of humor in the film that is a lot like today's films. Pretty sure a remake more faithful to the source material is coming but I hope it will not take itself too serious much like this movie.The supporting cast does well in their roles and Burt lets them all shine. If you enjoy old cop/action yarns you wont do wrong with this one.
