Бул кино тууралуу

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

The movie started with some intriguing character development, the villain was introduced, the hero, then the story started in earnest. Unfortunately the movie suffers from lackluster, cookie cutter villains that just roar at the good guys at the end,and they wait patiently for the good guys to get away and chase them pointlessly. The editing is sub par, the bad guys motivations are mercurial, and the cookie cutter 'bullies in high school' were straight out of every other teenager dealing with bullies comedy/family movie. If you are looking for some thing frivolous to bide your time for 2 plus hours, this is a good way to distract the kids.

This selfish, wise a** kid is not Billy Batson. Maybe it's me, but, doesn't it seem as though the same idiot that got fired from writing/directing TV Soap operas from the 1980s and 90s, is now assassinating the personalities of classic fictional characters (that we have "loved/liked" for decades). 21st century character assassination, by 20th century morons, with 1950s sensibilities, and a 1940s intellect. In an asinine and juvenile attempt at updating and modernizing them.

Rather disappointing origin story. The kid with a pure heart wouldn't be going to a strip club... The action was okay but it took too long to finally see the superhero who barely took things seriously. It just didn't seem believable where the story should have resounded true and relatable. The music at times seemed a little cheesy like when Shazam fights one of the 7 deadly sins and flies through him. The setup for future movies gave hope but the teenager maturity was hard to get past.
