Sobre este filme

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Rather disappointing origin story. The kid with a pure heart wouldn't be going to a strip club... The action was okay but it took too long to finally see the superhero who barely took things seriously. It just didn't seem believable where the story should have resounded true and relatable. The music at times seemed a little cheesy like when Shazam fights one of the 7 deadly sins and flies through him. The setup for future movies gave hope but the teenager maturity was hard to get past.

This movie was garbage just like all of the DC movies have been except wonder woman. He just runs around the whole movie acting dumb and clueless. Complete air head of an actor and he makes the character the same. Running around with that stupid looking light bright chest piece. A ridiculous movie and a testiment to these people absolute failure to do what marvel has done so magnificently.

I think it's alright. It's heartfelt at its center and the message is rich. It's true to the nature of Shazam being just a kid who's excited to find himself having powers, while also struggling to find the courage to do what is right, and doing it with help. The only problem I have with it is that I found it a bit obnoxious for my taste and that really downplays the scale of Shazam's power and potential. As it stands, I'd say it's the simplest of DC's origin stories, which is not all bad if that's your thing. I was never really convinced that this guy was super though he did have really nice teeth. I think it's great for younger audiences or those who just want to enjoy a simple heartfelt story. I'd say MoS and Aquaman carry more weight and are better origin films but it's still a great addition to the DCEU adding needed variety to its list of growing heroes.
