Über diesen Film

From director Guy Ritchie (Rocknrolla, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) comes an all-new take on the classic master detective Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams. Renowned "consulting detective" Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr.--Iron Man) has a reputation for solving the most complex mysteries. With the aid of his trusted ally Dr. John Watson (Law--The Aviator), Holmes is unequaled in his pursuit of criminals, relying on his singular powers of observation, his remarkable deductive skills -- and the blunt force of his fists. But now a threat unlike anything Holmes has ever confronted threatens London ... and it's just the challenge he's looking for.

This film found the perfect way to move on from Jeremy Brett's seminal interpretation of Holmes and Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect man to pull it off. As a result, this film is a cracking daring new version of the great detective that feels like a brilliant sideways version. You may have your doubts watching, but you'll be convinced by the end that you are truly seeing Holmes in its own way.

One of my all-time favorite movies! Unlike the other keyboard critics... I know of Sherlock Holmes but I'm not well acquainted with the original material. I think this movie is fun and light. No real gut wrenching drama. Just a entertaining mystery that is interesting and the actors we're good picks. It's a shame they'll probably never make a third movie. Too many overzealous negative watchers.

An amazing cast for the best Holmes & Watson. The plot is fast enough where you can see the intelligence of it without feeling left behind, and the score is amazing. Downey's Sherlock is perfect, accent and attitude and all. I can't remember a better held accent in film. And the addition to the character, fighting is interesting. Sherlock is smart, and fighting jerks entertains him. Plus, he tracks down criminals. The character makes no sense if he's defenseless. Better than the show by far.
