The actual "Countdown to Disaster" was from the moment this movie was first conceptualized to it's release. With CGI equal to that of a Playstation 1 level cutscene, acting so bad you think everyone in the movie is related to the director, and writing/dialogue so generic that the value brand at your local supermarket is more rare of a find. I had to stop watching not even halfway through. I rented this on sale, and I love disaster movies, but I just couldn't stand to watch this one over halfway.

To be fair and give full disclosure, I have a nice, but small, role in this movie as a Talking Head - that said, in as unbiased a manner as I can - this is truly a rollicking cool disaster flick. There are some top-notch performances by a very talented cast (lol, myself included), and given the budget some pretty fantastic effects and great overall dramatic action. If you like disaster films, I think you will love Shocckwave: Countdown to Disaster!
