In 1992, Bombay witnessed the famous Shootout at Lockhandwala. This police encounter was telecast live by the BBC and covered extensively by the media across the country and internationally. The people of India had by then, become immune to this brutal method of serving justice by the Mumbai police. Till date more than 820 encounters have been recorded in the files of Mumbai police. But where did it all begin? What compelled the second best police force in the world to adopt this barbaric practice of playing judge, jury and executioner? Who started it? When, where and how did it happen? The answer to all of this is "shootout at Wadala." The unbelievable true story of the first ever encounter in Bombay. The film outlines the rampant gang wars in Bombay as it culminates into a three way epic face-off between the dreaded gangster Dilawar, the notorious & charismatic gangster Manya Surve & Inspector Afaaque Bagraan.
