I remember when movies used to have a purpose, and yet could still be silly and clever. Meld that with the technology craze of the 1980s and you have this movie. Number Five's innocent simplicity and endearing emotions set the stage for a heartfelt, retro comedy, and the supporting cast shines here. My only complaint about this movie is the bad language, inserted likely because of the era in which it was made. I can't recommend this unedited for kids, but it's great for the young at heart.
