This movie was very good. Out of all the things I loved from this movie, I think I liked Bradley Cooper's character's transformation the most. Crazy to sane in the midst of everything going wrong is very reminiscent of hamlet, except this one ends happily. I also like the way this movie treats mental illness. From my memory most movies go for the extremely challenged, i.e. schizophrenia, autism, or something like that. And I don't really mind that it's another chick flick. The main reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because it's slightly predictable. That's all.

So much hype for a predictable story. Did anyone not see that ending coming from a good hour away? Good cast who mostly did a nice job (especially Robert De Niro). But for Cooper and Lawrence, it felt like they did not really understand bipolar and thus could not really portray it powerfully for their characters. For a film about main characters who have an emotional disorder, the film surprisingly lacked emotion.

My wife made me watch this. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Wife liked it OK. Just didn't care for the plot. I passed the time trying to count f-bombs...exercise in futility. So much so that I saw the longshoreman sitting next to me blushing...
