After faking her own death by drowning, she changes her name and relocates to Cedar Falls, Iowa -- and even begins a new relationship. Way, way too plotted and amateurishly so with all its coincidences, and the men, especially the husband, were ridiculous caricatures. BUT Julia Roberts is off the charts beautiful and talented. i saw this movie 25 years ago, but seeing it again felt exactly the same. Julia Roberts is this movie.

Great movie! Love the suspense even if the plot may be a bit predictable in spots. Bergin makes a great villain!

Plot may be predictable but the conditioning and the controlling factors, as well as the narcissism, are very realistic thanks to the actors. This is Julia Roberts' best performance.
