Sonatine A seasoned mobster travels to Okinawa on a "peacekeeping" mission, even though he suspects that his boss is secretly trying to eliminate him! Determined not to go down with out a fight, he and his gang know exactly what they have to do!

Brilliant, surreal & amazingly filmed ... Timeless sense of storytelling, yet not mainstream nor boring aside from it's use of violence in depth of plot & subject. Kitano is a legend & true artist... i wish more non-American film was created as such; honest/humble. American film could learn from him!

Straight up masterpiece. Kitano is the best.
