Video game adaptation sequels are rare a lot and this one works. It is not necessarily great, as the first one is not either but that one is still fun, however Sonic 2 is a bit of a step above the first with it's funny bits and visuals and action. The wedding situation in particular gets done well, then gets heartfelt. The big robot is really cool looking too, and also the temple that is in the ocean in the film. Sonic 2 is a cool ride to take at the theater for sure and just in general.

= A good movie. = Though I personally felt that the wedding scenes were needless weight on an otherwise clean cut Sonic movie, I found myself fairly satisfied with the overall feel of the film by the time the credits rolled. It's by no means a perfect cinematic masterpiece, but a few scenes are done *extremely well*. With their direction and CGI, I felt it worth the price of admission just to watch the oceanic & temple scenes. If it's family movie night? 🍿 It's worth the rental!

it was good considering the amount of references for videogames and i was hyped everytime i anticipated something based off of a reference. but why is no one talking about the cgi bugs and errors? i saw some scenes literally rendering mid pan and theres instances where knuckles' and tails' hairs clip through their body
