in this movie. It was terrifically acted, written, directed, filmed. It was almost a great fairy tale, but always real, intense and meaningful. I'm ashamed we're still at war with the people whose inner and outer strength and courage built America. The man in prison and the father and son he saved, were brilliant. The quotes from great black writers, thinkers and poets were fantastic! These people and their work should be taught in ALL schools in America. Great education on "black on black" violence!

South Los Angeles (formerly known as South Central Los Angeles) is one of homes of legendy street gangs from then and even now in the present. Growing up in the street gang is rough and at any means to survive from gangs and police. South Central is the region part with Inglewood, Leimert Park, and Compton along in the city of Los Angeles. The rumors I heard for years about O.G. Bobby Johnson is true that all came from this classic film which is awesome to know.

I love this movie so much. It was for me, at the time of its release, eye opening. It was my first unfiltered look at what we call the prison pipeline. Well acted, redemption, real change. I love it.
