Thirty five and unmarried, Meredith Appleton (Miranda Otto) arrives on the remote island of South Solitary with her lighthouse keeper uncle, George Wadsworth (Barry Otto). She tries to make the best of a bad situation but wild weather and misadventure conspire against her, leaving Meredith marooned on the desolate island with the enigmatic assistant keeper Fleet (Marton Csokas). Forgotten Australian gem. Stunning cinematography, Beautifully measured acting. A warm literary bath, like a great play.
