I know this movie is nearly 2 decades old, but the music is so great. I love the Spice Girls. A lot of positive energy in their music/lyrics. The movie is a bit wacky, but it's funny. Meatloaf, James Bond, Elton: they added some flavor to the film. Great music.

Yes. You probably have to like their music their music to appreciate the movie. And you probably have to have been there at the right age and time. It's a kitschy film but it's a very intentional one. It's all about girl power and having fun. I found humor the randomness more humourous as an adult than I did as a child.

Can a 1990s pop icon, all girl singing group, like the Spice Girls transition from music to movie? They can't. The music is good, not great. The story and character development is as one dimensional as a film reel. And the film reel has been wasted on this drab, forgetable, and so so music movie. It could have been a good movie musical, but it was a bad note.
