This film started a superhero binge by the movie production houses... at the time i was in love with it. Spidey swinging through the city was awesome and believable. but upon rewatching, the performance by tobey doesn't stand up as well as i thought and the twisting of the story to give him biological webshooters is just wrong. dont even get me started on the green goblin rangers power armor.

This is a really good film. Tobey Maguire was perfect for the role for Peter Parker/Spiderman (he shows that geekiness) and Uncle Ben was good also. Rose Mary Harris was a good casting choice also. And James Franco as Harry Osborn was great. And Wellem Dafoe was a little too over the Top (that's how the Green Goblin is supposed to be). And many people say the Goblin suit is ridiculous and I kinda agree but it's better than the suit they was originally about to choose for the movie. The CGI effects is OK.

I like this movie. I think it does a good job of telling Spider-Man's origin story. However this movie has some flaws: Sam Raimi's movies are a little corny and campy sometimes. Sometimes Tobey is a little awkward. The movie's special effects (even for 2002) could have been better. That dated "did your husband get it for you" joke. Overall, with those flaws, it's still a good way at telling Spider-Man's origin story.
