About this movie

Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan returns with an original thriller that delves into the mysterious recesses of one man's fractured, gifted mind. Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy, The Witch), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him - as well as everyone around him - as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

M Night No Thanks. Fool me once (The Happening) shame one you. Fool me twice, shame on me for selecting this cinematic massacre of a film. James McAvoy was brilliant, that's the only reason I gave it one star. M Night you owe me $5 and two hours. You spent so much time inserting the color yellow wherever you could find room that you forgot to write an ending to this movie. I liked Signs a lot but TBH when I saw M Night Shimmy Sham come across the screen I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh of derision. Should have followed my instinct and shut it off. You're not clever Shamalingaling just stop. That was not good. Shamalana Ding Dong.

It's settled then... I'm not a fan of M. Night Shamalyan movies. Boring. The directing and sound was truly awful. All you hear is loud breathing and saliva sounds throughout the movie. It about made me want to gag. James McAvoy is a great actor, and it's sad to me to watch him be in such a terrible movie. The ending was weird and made the entire rest of the plot seem completely unbelievable. Really didn't like it.

I am deeply interested in the human psyche. The lead did a decent job of portraying the characters featured herein. But for me there were many ways in which this movie fell absolutely flat...and then laid there waiting to die. Given a bit more thought to the overall plot, MKS could have really made this a worthwhile movie. When you expected a twist, there was instead the predictable. Many of his previous movies held you until the end. With this one, after awhile you'll find yourself just waiting for it to be over. #sigh
