About this movie

Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan returns with an original thriller that delves into the mysterious recesses of one man's fractured, gifted mind. Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy, The Witch), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him - as well as everyone around him - as the walls between his compartments shatter apart. - ( Original Title - Split )

Gripping story line, very well paced movie. I'd class this movie as a thriller with horror elements. Was a little confused by the story at the start, but all is explained relatively quickly. James McAvoy is very good in this movie, and plays the character convincingly. There are points in the movie where the acting of the girls isn't the greatest. I learned after watching the movie that it is actually a sequel to a movie called Unbreakable, but the story stands on its own. Interesting cameo appearance at the end of the movie :)

M. Night Shyamalan returns to form with this horror/thriller. His precise direction makes the most of the story and characters. Most of the characters being the multiple personalities portrayed by James McAvoy. James McAvoy brings the personalities to life with his various performances. A must see for fans of the horror/thriller genre.

Really different take on a horror film. Excellent acting, only negatives were the usual horror film qs, like once you get a psycho keep on hitting them!
