Tietoja tästä elokuvasta

Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, and Rachel McAdams lead a critically acclaimed cast in this gripping true story about the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation that uncovered a scandal that rocked one of the world's oldest and most trusted institutions. Delving into allegations of child abuse within the local Catholic Archdiocese, a tenacious team of Boston Globe reporters exposes a decades-long cover-up that reaches the highest levels of Boston's religious, legal, and government establishment. "Brilliantly acted and flawlessly directed" (New York Post ) Spotlight is a powerful and riveting drama the critics are calling "the All the President's Men of our time" (Los Angeles Times). Disappointed. First of all it's not like this is news. I have known about sexual abuse in the Catholic Church for years. Haven't you all? Coverup all the way up to the Vatican. I can also guarantee you that as we speak it is going on all over the world and will continue to go on. I believe the Church will continue to cover it up. I also believe that pedophiles are drawn to the Church just like they are drawn to schools, to Boy Scouts etc. They are drawn to "careers" or places where they are lots of kids and "safe" environments that will cover it up or it will be easy to hide behind "authority". I felt the movie was slow and messy. Too many characters all over the place. Felt disjointed. I think they could have done a much better job with this very important subject.

A carefully scripted piece promoting one of the greatest legal scams in U.S. History. To date - not a single item of evidence has ever been presented in direct support of the accusations made against Catholic priests in the 'series' of organized, fraudulent cases filed in the United States. Using a media license to promote unproven allegations for a political agenda and profit? Not Pulitzer material.
